Parent Supply List - What to Bring to camp:
Please bring the following items to camp. Your child will paint and finish their guitar on Day 1, so these supplies are required to participate. We will only be using spray paint, as it is the easiest to apply and dries quickly. We recommend Rust-Oleum or Krylon spray paint for wood – available at Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, or Amazon.
PAINT:
1 can of spray paint (for your main color – this goes on the entire body of the guitar)
1 can of clear spray finish (for protection and shine – optional but recommended)
We recommend: Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2X Clear Gloss or Satin Finish
OPTIONAL DESIGN SUPPLIES:
1 additional can of a second color if you want to do a 2-tone or custom design
Masking tape for stripes or shapes
Stencils if you want to spray logos, names, or designs
SANDPAPER
Bring 1–2 sheets of fine grit sandpaper – around 220 to 320 grit.
CLOTHING
Wear old clothes or bring an apron or large T-shirt that can get messy. We will be outside to paint, so dress appropriately.
A mask is optional but helpful if sensitive to spray fumes.
Safety goggles, mandatory. We will be painting outside
Fitted disposable gloves such as kitchen gloves, or medical gloves.
The health and safety of our students is our top priority. If you or School of Rock needs to cancel a Summer Camp, for any reason, you will be presented with options. Cancellations within 14 days before camp are not eligible for a refund.
